How to clean work boots?

The first step to cleaning work boots is to identify what material the boot is made of.  If the boot is smooth and shiny it is leather, if the boot is soft and matte it is most likely nubuck, and if the boot is fuzzy or hair it is suede. There is are detailed instructions on how to clean suede.

No mater what material the boot is made of you will want to remove as much dirt as possible before using cleaners; if the boot is leather you will want to use a cloth, if the boot is suede or nubuck you will want to use a Suede and Nubuck Brush. Once you’ve removed most of the dirt from the boot it’s time to use cleaning products.

For leather we recommend using Leather Cleaner and a Premium Shoe Shine Cloth to clean off any remaining dirt. While the boot is clean it is a great time to protect it with either Mink Oil Protector or Weather Guard.

For suede or nubuck boots we recommend using our foaming Suede & Nubuck Cleaner along with our Suede and Nubuck Brush. Once you’ve cleaned the boot it is a great time to protect the boots with Weather Guard.
